Seascapes

—  This series is a meditation on an elusive sublime moment within the ever-changing seascape. The images reflect a receptivity to the environment, encapsulating celestial movements and rhythms of waves oriented by a visual horizon line where sky meets sea. The camera is used as a tool to take in more information than the human eye can perceive, while the film records the experience of the environment – capturing colors, light, and textures that are seemingly intangible. In this way, the medium transcends the photograph and translates accumulated information into an other-worldly place. Exaggerated colors within these pieces reinforce the fantastical landscape as the buildup of information obscures the minute details and evokes the ephemerality of memory.
